Endocrinology Update

We have been to the endocrinologist. It was a much better experience this time. His was very thorough and put me at ease. He ordered a bone age xray and a spinal xray. He believes Hunter's bone age will be 2+ years behind his real age. This would be good because he in theory has the 2+ extra years to catch up. On the other hand, if his bones are at his real age and the growth plates are fusing, he may need growth hormones. We did the spinal xray to rule out spinal fusion after all of the steroids and weight gain. We will alos be doing a growth hormone level. He also noted that Hunter's Thyroid function has been quite low and feels like if this new level comes back low again, he will treat that without a 2nd thought. He felt like Hunter's testosterone level should be ok and that he should start puberty late, but on his own. Sterility is likely zero(as we know already) but testosterone tends to be very resilient. We have blood work later next week.
Pre-op was today and the surgery is on for the 12th at 7am. It is a big milestone for him....he is excited!!!
I will let you know of results
