ALWAYS AN ADVENTURE

Robin and I spent a day 'playing' today....read walking through shops and enjoying having no agenda. Grandpa Daddy picks our kids up on Friday to bring them home. He called from down the street and said it was blocked off by State Police and Military Police. He was told they were looking for a fugitive and he had to go back down the hill and come up the other way. He called and filled me in. I could not find anything on the tv or online. I went and met them at the car when they got here and the construction guys working in our ditch said the cops had been driving up and down the street and stopped to tell them if they saw a white man in a black tee and black shorts to call the police. A bit unsettling. I came inside, locked all of the doors and windows and called Robin to fill her in. We discussed them driving down to play (we had planned having dinner over here tonight). At that moment, the kids and I looked out our back windows into the yard to see Tobi run under the trampoline and look towards the back. Next thing I know 10-20 police officers, weapons drawn, crossed the back of our yard. Another neighbor called and said, "What in the world is going on???" It didn't take long for Robin and I to get our kids in the cars and get down the hill. On the way, another neighbor with some information called and said they were looking for 2 men, armed and dangerous. We called the police station every 30 minutes over the next few hours to find out if we could return home. We repeatedly got, "They have not been apprehended and it is unsafe to return home at this time. Call back in 30 minutes to check again." Finally, at 7pm they said it was safe to return home. I asked if they had been caught and she said she didn't have that information, but it was safe to return home. We have heard a few varying stories....we may never know for sure. The one that came from the most reliable sources was that 2 men breeched NORAD property and left an explosive device. When approached by police, they ran. Who knows for sure. All I know is it was very unsettling to look in my backyard with my kids and see so many cops, guns drawn, looking for armed men. I have a feeling we will have a few children join us tonight!!! Needless to say, our alarm is set and the dogs will be by the doors!!! Never a dull moment!!!
